Smoothies, The Right Way!

Smoothies can be a filling and nutrient dense snack or meal, but you need to know how to make it the right way so it’s not just another sugar laden milk shake that spikes your blood sugar levels!

For optimum health, it is recommended that we consume at least 9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. I know what you’re thinking, “How? I’m so busy and this is so much!” Well, smoothies are a great strategy to easily increase your daily intake of those fruits and vegetables in a fun and enjoyable way!

Take a break from the sugar-laden smoothies and stick to fiber rich superfoods that add vitamins, minerals, essential fats, phytonutrients and fiber to your diet. Your body will get the nutrients it needs to remove toxins, boost weight loss, and help to strengthen your immune system, minus the blood sugar spike that comes alongside most smoothie recipes.

It’s much easier to create healthy, long-lasting habits when you’re doing it with an inspiring group of people. And since adding one smoothie per day to your wellness practice has extraordinary benefits for your energy, immune system and overall well-being, I thought it would be the perfect idea to get us all motivated.... Join us for the 7-Day Superfood Smoothie Challenge starting on Monday February 20, 2017. You will have access to a great smoothie guidebook with all my tips and tricks, over 10 amazing recipes and my daily support! For now, here are a few smoothie options to incorporate on a daily basis anytime you need a quick energy boost!

The Green Magic Smoothie (see below) is my favorite energy booster, and it includes additional cacao that is high in magnesium and helps keep stress levels in check.

Green Magic Smoothie

1 ½ cups dairy free milk or water

2 cups spinach ½ avocado

½ teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon raw cacao powder

Wellness 101 Smoothie

For both smoothies, simply add all ingredients to your blender and pulse until smooth and creamy.
