Date Delight Bites

I love a sweet treat after dinner sometimes, but especially in Ramadan it's a must for me! Chocolate is my go to treat but eating chocolate at night really impacts my sleep, so I avoid it in the evenings.

I had to come up with a replacement and these amazing 2 bite treats have been so satisfying and so tasty 😋 Made with only 3 nutritious ingredients and takes all of 5 min to put together.

So let's take a closer look at this delicious treat: - Walnuts. Walnuts are a delicious way to add extra nutrition, flavor and crunch to any dish! "Walnuts not only taste great but are a rich source of heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and an excellent source of those hard to find omega-3 fatty acids."(1)

- Dates. Dates provide a good source of fiber, phytonutrients, and antioxidants. They have anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial properties and are packed with minerals and vitamins providing a huge nutritional punch. (2) (3)

- Cardamom. A pungent spice used in a lot of Middle Eastern dishes is a favorite of mine! "Cardamom may help fight bacteria in the mouth, a common cause of bad breath, cavities, and gum disease. A recent study found that cardamom seeds and fruit could help improve oral health due to their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties." Fabulous for digestion, and is also great for boosting metabolism. (4)
