How to Make a Healthy Trail Mix


I like snacking on Trail mix, I get a variety of flavors and textures, which I find it so satisfying. For sure I need to watch my portions cause I can get easily carried away. So I always put some in a bowl and NEVER eat out of the Jar!


Here are a couple of things to keep in mind when making your own:


💜 Use what you have on hand to put this together; a mix of nuts, seeds, unsweetened dried fruit, coconut flakes, banana chips and some chocolate. I like to layer them so I’ll use a measuring cup (1/4 cup or 1/2 cup depends on your jar size) and do equal portions of 2 different types of nuts, 2 different types of seeds, 2 different unsweetened dried fruits and 1 chocolate .


💙 Focus on the quality of the ingredients... reading labels is always important. Pay close attention to added sugars to dried fruit.


💚 Raw nuts and seeds are best, dry roasted are ok too.


💛 I go for 70% dark chocolate that I break into bits or semisweet chocolate chips.

🧡 Mix it all up and always use a small plate to eat it, if you are anything like me, portion control is highly recommended.
