The Number One Thing Missing From Your Diet …

Green leafy vegetables are the number one foods most missing in modern diets (or we just don’t get enough of them). They gently detoxify the body while delivering a lot of amazing nutrients as well as reduce risk of cardiovascular and other diseases . They truly are one of the healthiest and most nutrient-dense foods out there.

Eating foods with high nutrient levels will keep you satiated longer and help reduce cravings, because your body is already getting the nutrition it needs. Leafy greens are low in calories and they’re a great source of fiber, which digests slowly and therefore keeps your stomach feeling full for a longer period of time.

Whenever possible, choose local or organic. But in my opinion, eating non-organic greens is much better than not eating any greens at all! (btw, frozen is a great option to keep on hand.)

I would encourage you to start adding in greens to your day, think spinach, arugula, Swiss chard, broccoli, kale, whatever you like! There are so many options to choose from. Find greens that you love and eat them often. When you get bored with your favorites, be adventurous and try greens that you’ve never heard of before.

The point is to add these foods consistently on a daily basis. Can you imagine how good you’ll feel knowing that you might have eaten too many M&M’s BUT at least you got your greens in? It's all about balance.
